What Is AI Medical Scribe?
Some of our doctors use AI-powered medical scribe technology to help create accurate, comprehensive clinical notes during your consultation. We currently use two approved AI medical scribes:
Both tools are designed specifically for healthcare and comply with Australian privacy laws.
Lyrebird Health and Heidi Health are classified as documentation tools, they do not serve therapeutic purpose and do not give diagnostic recommendations.
How It Works
The technology is straightforward:
- AI listens quietly in the background during your appointment
- It creates a written transcript of the clinically relevant information
- Your doctor reviews it carefully and makes corrections if needed
- Your doctor approves it before it’s saved to your medical record

This technology gives your doctor a gift: time to listen to you instead of typing.
Privacy and Security
All AI use at Epichealth complies with Australian privacy laws, including:
- Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth)
- Health Records Act 2001 (VIC)
How can you lodge a privacy-related complaint, and how will the complaint be handled at our practice?
We take complaints and concerns regarding privacy seriously. You should express any privacy concerns you may have in writing. We will then attempt to resolve it in accordance with our resolution procedure. You can email us at [email protected]. You must include your mailing address and contact number. Turnaround timeframe to your request will usually be 30 days.
