Epichealth Ocean Grove Named Finalist in the 2023 Victorian Rural Health Awards

Epichealth Ocean Grove was selected a finalist in the prestigious 2023 Victorian Rural Health Awards in the category of Outstanding Contribution by a Rural Health Team. The clinic’s exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to serving the Bellarine Peninsula have been acknowledged by the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) in partnership with the Victorian Government.
The team of Epichealth Ocean Grove managed to establish the first GP-run respiratory clinic for the Bellarine Peninsula in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. During the initial stages of the pandemic between 2020 and early 2023, the Bellarine Respiratory Clinic played a pivotal role in providing testing, treatment, and support to those impacted by the virus. Over the course of three years, the clinic team conducted PCR tests for 54,459 local patients, administered 50,411 COVID-19 vaccines, and provided essential medical treatments to 8,105 people.
The medical staff, comprised of dedicated general practitioners, nurses and admin officers from the local community, worked tirelessly, often braving difficult weather conditions, to ensure continued care for COVID-positive patients. Operating seven days a week, the clinic quickly became a beacon of hope for those in need in the Bellarine.
