Welcome Dr. Katherine Simson to Epichealth Portarlington
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Katherine Simson (MD, BBiomed, BEx&SportSc (Hons), GDipPubHealth) to the team at Epichealth Portarlington.
Originally from country Victoria, Dr. Simson brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to rural and Indigenous healthcare. After completing her medical studies in Western Australia, she worked in the Kimberley and South West regions, where she developed a passion for Indigenous health and remote medicine.
Dr. Simson returned to Geelong in 2022 and has since worked with Barwon Health and Hamilton Base Hospital. Last year, she furthered her specialty training in remote and Aboriginal health services in Far North Queensland. She is now continuing her training in both General Practice and Emergency Medicine, right here in Geelong.
Her areas of clinical interest include Indigenous health, paediatrics, sports and exercise medicine, and preventative care. Patients will benefit not only from her medical expertise but also her compassionate and community-focused approach.
Outside of work, Dr. Simson enjoys an active lifestyle filled with hiking, camping, cooking, and walking her beloved Great Dane, Duke.
