Yarra Glen Medical Clinic Team – Doctors / GP’s 

Dr Rashim Kamra

Rashim is an experienced male GP who has been working in different parts of Australia since 2011, working in various hospitals like Royal Darwin Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah, Angliss and also at the Bairnsdale Hospital in the beautiful country Victoria. He worked in various medical streams ( Gen. Surgery, Emergency Dept, Orthopaedics, ICU, Paediatrics, Internal Medicine amongst many others) and also worked as a Radiology Registrar at the Adelaide for a year before focusing on the General Practice.

After moving back to Melbourne in the year 2016 – he has been working as Deputising GP for the last 5 years with National Home Doctor Services and has recently joined our Epichealth Yarra Glen Practice. He also visits numerous aged cares around eastern suburbs of Melbourne. With his specific areas of expertise, he compliments the other doctors extremely well.

In his spare time, Dr. Kamra loves traveling, photography, and spending time with his family.

His areas of interest are: Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine , Aged Care , Chronic Disease Management & Prevention, Minor Procedures and Travel Health

Dr Sara Safari 

Dr Sara Safari graduated from Tehran Azad University of Medical Science in 2004. She worked as a General Practitioner in Tehran for 5 years.

Sara started working in Melbourne in 2010 and spent the next few years figuring out her career by working in various hospitals around Victoria. Her initial interest in Surgical fields led to training as a Surgical registrar, before focusing on general practice. Sara gained experience in surgical fields including Breast, Endocrine, Gastrointestinal and General Surgery during this time. She has also completed a post-graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy and a number of short courses in Acute Care, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Care of the Critically Surgical Patient and other surgical training and professional events. Sara has a passion for sports and is currently studying and researching to get her Master of Sports Medicine.

Sara has a special interest in Woman’s Health, Breast Cancer screening, Gastrointestinal problems, Sport Medicine and Musculoskeletal pain and injuries, although enjoys all aspects of medicine.

Her interests outside of medicine include travel, dance, arts, fitness and kickboxing!

Dr  Hamed Shafaie

Hamed is a warm and caring rural trained GP who has spent the last 7 years working in and around the Shepparton and Swan Hill regions. He has a wealth of experience in family medicine and has previously worked as Chief Medical Officer in charge of Shepparton Emergency Department. Hamed enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a strong focus on preventative health. He has worked in health promotion and community welfare and is passionate about supporting the health of the community as a whole through education and health literacy. Hamed’s special clinical interests include preventative health, chronic disease management, mental health and children’s health.

Dr Nadia Shafaq

Nadia is a kind and caring GP with a passion for quality family medicine. She has a particular focus on pediatrics, women’s health, mental health and chronic disease management. Nadia’s work with chronic medical conditions involves consideration of individual patient needs and circumstances and coordinating a team approach to assessments and reviews. Nadia has extensive Australian and overseas experience. She joined Epichealth in 2018 after working for 3 years at Millenial Medical Centre in Footscray and working extensively at Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Austin Hospital and Northern Health. Her favourite part about being a GP is building long term relationship with her patients so she can get to the core of their health concerns.

Our lovely practice nurse Lisa is brilliant at managing chronic disease and supporting patients young and old with their medical procedures. They are passionate about health promotion and lead many preventative health initiatives for at risk patient groups.
The practice nurses’ role is to support our GPs in the delivery of patient care. Epichealth’s practice nurses have a particular focus on improving the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our patients. They combine their expert clinical knowledge with a warm and caring approach which sees them achieve great outcomes for patients of all ages.

Dr. Nicole Sutcliffe


I am a highly enthusiastic podiatrist and long standing member of the  Australian Podiatry Association. I hold a strong passion for the podiatry  profession. I am a familiar local resident and mother of 3, hence heavily affiliated with the local primary school, kindergarten and sporting clubs  (football).

I graduated from La Trobe University in 2001 after completing a Bachelor  degree of Podiatry. I have gained a high level of clinical experience in  all fields of podiatry including nail surgery, biomechanics, orthotic  therapy, diabetes management/assessments, sports medicine and paediatrics.

Podiatry has been a life-long ambition for me and I strive to help people  be pain free and mobile on their feet/lower limbs, to ensure an ongoing  active, healthy life.

Clinical Dietitican

A foodie through and through! Originally from Sydney, she started her career in hospitality but wanted to take her love for food to the next level. Lauren decided to pack up and move to Melbourne, Australia’s food capital, to study Food Science and Nutrition. She believes in a client-centred, tailored, evidence based, lifestyle approach with a firm belief that small changes lead to long term results. Lauren is passionate about advocating for her patients nutritional needs. Laurens other dietetic passions include support for weight management, performance nutrition and support for those choosing or required to follow specific diets particularly FODMAP, gluten free, vegan/vegetarian and combinations of these.

Chris Cunningham 


Chris is an experienced psychologist who specialises in stress management, trauma reactions, post traumatic stress, anxiety, depression and enhancing life skills. A variety of therapeutic approaches are utilised including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Imaginal Exposure Therapy, and Stress Coaching.  In the past 5 years Chris has worked extensively in the Yarra Ranges and Murrindindi Shires providing counselling and psychological support to community and emergency service members. As The Stress Coach, Chris coaches people through high stress situations where they have to perform under pressure. These include professionals, business owners, executives, emergency service and military personell and a range of community members

Salli Trathen 


Salli is a registered psychologist, social worker, couple and family therapist with 35 years experience in mental health spanning a wide range of organisational settings including public, community-based counselling services and private practice.  Salli has 20 years private practice experience in the northern suburbs and eastern rural fringe providing psychological services to individual adults and couples (incl same sex) and families.

Special interests:

Kerry McDonnell 


Kerry is a registered psychologist and a member of Australian Psychological Society with over 15 years experience in counselling. She has also has many years experience working in schools both as a Teacher and an Educational Psychologist.

Kerry provides a safe, supportive environment in which the therapy is tailored to individual needs. Therapeutic interventions include:   Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

No Gap Consultations for Concession Patients

Epichealth recognises the need to provide access to subsidised medical services for the following patients:

– Patients who hold a valid Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans Gold Card

– Children who are under 16 years of age.

We are pleased to confirm that there will be no gap on consultations for these patients.

Medical Procedures

Medical procedures are privately billed for all patients. Please inquire about the cost of your procedure at the time of booking.

Nurse Visits

All nurses visits attract a fee per visit to cover the cost of our nurses’ time and incidental medical consumables. This can be discussed with you at your visit.


All payments are required in full on the day of the consultation. Please present your Medicare Card and Health Care Card to reception on arrival. We accept cash, EFTPOS and credit card (Mastercard or Visa). We do not accept American Express, Diners Club cards or personal cheques.
